Students in the Division of Nutritional Sciences may participate in our Margin of Excellence program, which provides student travel and research seed grant funds on a competitive basis. Participation in the Margin of Excellence research grant competition provides not only funding for a student’s research project, but also valuable grant writing experience. Students receive detailed feedback from our review panel on the strengths and weaknesses of their proposal. Margin of Excellence travel funds help to subsidize travel to important conferences and scientific meetings so that DNS students can present their research findings and network with graduate students and leading researchers from other institutions.
